Sitting in my sadness

Dear stranger,

My parents say they never understand why I listen to "sad music" when I'm sad and in some way, I understand it may seem weird. I guess I do it for the comfort, to not feel so alone in my state of mind which might come off contradicting considering the number of times I've said something along the lines of "I know I'm not alone but I don't feel any less alone because of that." (Which is true. ) When I listen to "sad music" I don't have to say anything. The music puts what I feel into words and helps me sort my thoughts out. Sometimes I need to sit in my sadness to be able to overcome it. That may sound stupid or maybe I'm wording it wrong.
